In February we welcome back Peter Jones, one of our regular speakers. This time he will be telling us all about the Essex Lights - the lighthouses on our Essex coast that keep our sailors safe at sea.
Tuesday 16th January 2024 7.30 p.m.
Thank you to Gary Matthews for a most interesting talk about Daisy, Countess of Warwick who led a most fascinating life in terms of her romantic liaisons, friendships and philanthropy. The talk also shared with us some of the history of Daisy's home Easton Lodge and how it was bequeathed to her. The gardens which were once the talk of society fell into disrepair, but now under the splendid care of volunteers, the gardens have made a comeback; but still work to do. The house and gardens have limited opening times from April to October, so please check their website. February, which is snowdrop time offers special visiting days and evidently the snowdrops are well worth the visit.
